Heya folks, two Beleza-oriented events in Philly this week, and the focus is Brazil, as it should be!

Just a reminder about a very special set of all Brazilian and Brazilian-influenced music. I'll be bringing out the cream of my treasured vinyl to do a whirlwind tour of some of the most sophisticated, syncopated, and exuberant music in the world. This will be an early cocktail hour (and a half) starting at 9, so bring your futbol jerseys and pandeiros to this great little spot at 9th and Christian and help bless the first installment of this new weekly, compliments of the Funkshun crew. Later in the night is D.C.'s Dave Dawson (a.k.a. Daudau) presenting a "metrotechno" live-pa. The legendary Michelle Sainte rolls through next week! We gotcher eclectic right here. You know that little pizza place at 4th and South, Pomodoro? Didya know there's an adorable bar upstairs, and it's already not a secret to the Sunday night junglists? Now you know. Pomodoro is under new ownership, looking at a likely name change, and the Management just got back from Brazil. They're itching for soulful, jazzful sounds... We got 'em. Come out tomorrow night to enjoy warm, sparkly jazz, broken beat, and sounds of Brazil from 9-2am, and with a little luck it's destined to turn into a weekly reunion.
You'd be remiss to miss Escola do Jazz @ Vesuvio on Thursday, and Friday @ the Latest Dish...Edwin's up this week.
