Subject: New Music up, Signal @ Fluid, news

New music posted, damn fine show on Thursday, new pictures from London, and requesting EVEN MORE travelling help, this time in Brazil!

Before we go furda, a quick pronunciation note. Beleza is said "beh LAY za" and is the Portuguese word for beauty. It's used in greetings and just general speech, like, "Oi, tudo beleza?" meaning, "Hey, all good?" Now you have a new factoid to show off at parties, further proof that Beleza-Music.org makes you smarter.

Two sets of music posted!

AYRO
Live in Philadelphia, July 2004
Finally up at http://www.beleza-music.org/trackssets. This was a WICKED live PA by Ayro at his Philadelphia debut this past summer. The show was in a cozy basement venue full of strictly heads, and the set has a distinctly Detroit, basement feel about it. Rawk on.

99 WKDU EMM 2004
Also, 99 live on 91.7 WKDU-FM for the 2004 Electronic Music Marathon for charity. The EMM is a long and proud Philly tradition where the best of the city's DJs descend upon Drexel U's excellent campus station and pummel the airwaves with all electronics all weekend. Each DJ brings sponsorship money for a terrific cause. This year's EMM benefitted the Village of Arts and Humanities in North Philly. Play records, help people. What more could you ask for? This is a crappy MP3 of the web stream, forgive the glitches and scratchy quality. If anyone has a clean copy, holla! Dave? Jenn? Bueller? http://www.beleza-music.org/trackssets

If you are a DJ or producer wishing to have music posted on the site, write back privately. And keep an eye out, more music on the way. Snap snap, grin grin, wink wink, nudge nudge, say no more.

Signal tonight at Fluid

They're baaack! The Fab Four, made up of Ultraviolet (Ladies Love Hip Hop), Sezy (www.djsezy.com), Jneiro Jarel (www.jneirojarel.com), and moi, 99, hit one of Philly's favorite venues to come with a pretty darn interesting and backside-shaking mix of deep, ruff hip hop, jangliest broken beat killers, smoovest house, and sunniest classics, if I do say so myself. Worth noting: I have just come back from London with a fat stack of vinyl begging to be played on a big system...Snap snap, grin grin, wink wink, nudge nudge, say no more.

Also, check Ladies Love Hip Hop Thursday Dec 30 @ LaTazza with DJs Ultraviolet, Sesi, and guest host, the mighty Steph Tataz! This party is always so fun, and can I tell you, my girl UV was lookin' FIERCE at the last one. Whew, do not get between this girl and her decks! Check it!

London Calling
**************
Yeah, so the disproportionate number of Britishisms in this little posting is no doubt due to a little nostaligia for London. Did quick whirlwind 5 days in music Mecca, and you can see the best of the worst at http://www.beleza-music.org/photos. Many, many thanks to friends new and old who made it absolutely fabulous. (See? The references just don't stop.) Travelogue on the way. This time I mean it! It's half written!

MUCH appreciated!!!! More info later...watch the ride...

Catch you soon!
Much love,
