The Internet: A Series of (Fallopian) Tubes

Many thanks to Jacob Appelbaum for the photo.

For the HOPE conference this year, a couple of us put together some joke shirts as a riff on the awesome Ted Stevens "Series of Tubes" meme. Our contribution was fallopian tubes!

Fallopian tubes totally pwnd the closing ceremonies.

Much to our suprise and delight, they were a smash. We screened them by hand on my porch and at a vendor table at the conference, and people are asking for more.

Brandon and his friend helping out, and Hannah very excited about her tubes. Thanks again to Jacob Appelbaum for augmenting Hannah's wonderfulness.

We are going to sell them to fundraise for some incredible media activism and digital divide groups here in Philadelphia, so your bucks go to unclogging the IntarTubes for all. We have also released the silk screen design for diy'ing so you can have your own geekerly silk screening party in your town, on your porch, or in your basement.

Steph99 helping a willing tubar screen his own on Friday night, when we first realized that we might have created a monster.

Many thanks to all who came by, bought shirts, helped screen, brought food, and generally were nice. Thanks to Dharma for sparking the idea, and to Kate, Andy, Petri, Hannah, Kirsten, Dave, and Will who helped screen at the house and at the con. Many thanks to Eryck for technical advice, extra shirts and just being awesome, Cult of the Dead Cow for the lab coat, the bucket and the paper towels, and also being awesome, all the organizers who pulled off a great event, and eleventy billion thank-yas to LUNARCORE who put this site together in like 5 minutes just cuz he was excited about it.
